Cherry Baby Bunny Charm Bracelet

Recently I approached Cherry Baby about reviewing the new collection which launched on Monday 14th January.

Due to an immense amount of exams. It has taken me a while to post this review.

Let me start of by giving you some background. Cherry Baby is an online accessories boutique, that uses recycled and vintage materials offering a range of unique and statement pieces to accessorise any outfit. It was founded by Emma Turner who designs all the lovely pieces whether you want something Funky, Retro or Vintage.

I was sent the Bunny Charm Bracelet; which has a waxy, braided leather bracelet. The pretty bronzed bunny charm offers a vintage detail, offering an understated yet unique element to your outfit. I love how simple this bracelet is and the Alice in Wonderland feel it has to it.

Rihanna Reb'l Fleur & Rebelle Perfume Review

Helloooo....

 I decided to make this post a 2 in 1 review just to make it easier for all of you

Whilst searching on Ebay, I came across a company called 'Boutique Zone' selling 100ml Tester EDP Rihanna fragrances bottles unboxed, without lids including a free minature sample for for over 50% cheaper than major retailers at a bargain price of £14.95.

I have always been a fan of Rihanna (Even met her twice in '07 & '10), her style and her music since the beginning of her career and I love the fact that she keeps its fresh by changing/reinventing herself with every new album! 

Since the launch of her perfumes, I have always got each new one every year. I'm now waiting patiently to test out Nude when it arrives in the UK! 

Rihanna's perfumes are distinct and widely known due to the sleek glass bottle which is combined with a twisted matte coloured ribbon , designed in the shape of a stiletto due to Rihannas fondness for them. 

Reb'l Fleur

Reb'l Fleur was the debut fragrance in her perfume empire which was launched in late 2011 and the name was inspired by Rihanna's gran who nicknamed her 'Rebel flower' .

As show in the title, it does contain floral notes of Hawaiian Hibiscus Flower, Poinciana, Violet, Tuberose with a fruity blend of heart and tops notes of Coconut, Red Berries, Purple Plum, Peach and a vanilla base.

In terms of scent it is described as fruity chypre and is perfect if you're into sweet floral smells.  The scent encapsulates my ideal romantic holiday that encomprises of a Sunset walk on a  Hawaiian beach in a sexy maxi-dress . I love that it contains my favourite scents: Vanilla, Peach & Coconut!

I personally think that this perfume is great for using at night but also in the day at work/uni if you want to feel empowered , memorable or sexy .

Rebelle

 

Rebelle is the second edition of her debut fragrance and was launched in April 2012. 

I was introduced to this perfume by my boyfriend, who brought it as a 20th Birthday gift on a whim because he knew I wore Reb'l Fleur . I am so glad he purchased this perfume as I have fallen in love with Rihanna's fragrance again. 

As you can identify from the title of this fragrance, it captures rihannas fierceness with the daring red matte ribbon and makes reference to her signature red hair colour. 

It was inspired to encapsulate the warmth of the Caribbean sun including her present day life. 

This is shown by the scent which features heart notes of heliotrope, vanilla orchid,cocoa absolute , top notes of plum, strawberry and fiery ginger on a base of musk, coffee, amber and patchouli to undercover a floral fruity scent.

Rebelle will leave you feeling lively, bold, and full of spirit (cheeky), basically the definition of sassy.

Summary:

Price:  You can purchase a 100ml EDP for around £36.50 both online & in store from major retailers such as House of Fraser, Perfume shop etc 

Longevity: This perfume is very strong and lasts for over 5 hours due to it being Eau de Parfum - which is a great , because I adore the scent! 

 

Scent: If you love Britney Spears Fantasy - but you want a more mature, sweet but sexy version, then these are the perfumes for you! 

Packaging: I think the packaging is sleek.  I like how the lid looks very expensive including the changing matte ribbon per new scent.The bottle stands out compared to my other perfumes! 

Repurchase: yes, Yes, YES! Since being at university I have brought 2 Reb'l Fleurs and a Rebelle, these perfumes do not last long the way I spray them like bodyspray but for £14.50 each , I don't mind splashing the cash!

New Glasses from Firmoo

Hiiii ,

Sorry for not posting sooner, but my camera memory card was rejecting my SD slot on my laptop up until now, so when it finally came to its senses, I moved all my blog pictures and it was a real mission.

I Hope everyone welcomed 2013 in style, mine was chilled with the family (Eating Junk, Playing Zumba on Kinect, Watching TV and dancing to 1Xtra) but still fun!

Anyway before Christmas I received an email from Diane from Dee-vine anonyme  notifying me that I was one of the winners of her Firmoo $20 voucher giveway .

Firmoo is a online American glasses retailer for non prescription and prescription glasses, offering many styles to suit every customers needs and pockets too!

They are currently offering a free pair of eye glasses, sunglasses or safety goggles up to 1.50 index single vision lenses for new customers only, but you do have to pay for postage &packing which is $15.75 (9.80).

I was not too sure what to choose, so I opted for 3 pairs of glasses for $8 (£4.97) each. A blue pair, a brown pair and matte black thick rimmed pair.

I love the glasses cases that came with each one; they are fun, colourful and feature a clear top so you can admire your glasses without even opening the case.  Not forgetting the handy yellow cloth too, to clean off those dust particles or in my case fingerprints!

I would definitely advise you to check them out if you are in need of a new pair of glasses, as they have many styles to suit everyone's needs. Holiday Presents: DIY Fashionista and Muji

HAPPY NEW YEAR BELLES!!

I know this is extremely late, but I spent the majority of the holiday working and without the internet (I have now realised how dependent I am on the internet lol)

That's an addiction that I will soon lose now that the exam season has begun. 

The holiday seemed to just fly by, and before I knew it I was straight back into my uni routine. 

Anyway, I just wanted to show you two of the presents that I received. My mum is the best and knows me inside out. Every year we get a book for the holidays along with all the other presents. This year my mum got me an amazing book. 

DIY FASHIONISTA

Its the DIY Fashionista book by Geneva Vanderzeil. For those of you living under rocks out there, and don't know who she is check out her blog A Pair & A Spare

Seriously, Geneva is not only an great fashion and lifestyle blogger, but has amazing style as well. The best part is that her style is totally affordable, because it is either DIY or reworked pieces; showing you that you can still get the looks and trends off the runway without breaking the bank. This book shows you how to achieve 40 of her stylish projects in an easy step by step guide.

Each style project displays the skill level needed which range from easy (no sewing necessary) all the way up to the more skilled designs (require sewing machine or basic pattern making).

The reason I love this book, is that not only does it help you to recreate some of Geneva's stylish creations, but inspires and gives you the confidence to create some of your own DIY projects.

In addition to the style projects, the book also has a section on how to organise your wardrobe to perfection and gives you a brief lesson on how to find your inspiration to begin your DIY journey.

I'm looking forward to her next designs and hopefully she may bring out another book.

MUJI ACRYLIC 5 DRAWER BOX

This Muji 5 Drawer Acrylic box is great for storing your makeup as well as any other bits you may want to store in it.

I love that it is acrylic, as it offers transparency while at the same time a sturdy and reliable material for storage. Although, the drawers are quite narrow so you have to be selective about what items can fit in them, but you could always purchase the bigger boxes with deeper drawer space.

Another great thing about the transparency is that it will match and fit into any room/design.

The 5 drawers are perfect for me as it allows me to organise my make up easier, as well as offering easy accesss through the slide out draws.

So far this is how I've filled it, but I'm sure I will add to it very soon as my make up collection could do with a huge update.

The Muji 5 Drawer Acrylic box retails for £24.95, which is not a bad price considering what you can fit in it. It can be purchased either from their online website or in any of their stores worldwide.

Bake Days #2 :Fudge & White Chocolate Brownies

Sorry guys, I am bit late in posting the 2nd second edition of bake days . All the blame is going to none other than university and its neverending workloads!

Anyway,  I decided I wanted to make use of some free morrisons chocolate I got when I visited there stand at a placement fair a few weeks back , and what better way to use chocolate in a recipe other than BROWNIES, which happens to be one of my favourite desserts.

Ingredients

Serves: 12

Chocolate Brownie Mixture

4 large eggs
175g Unsalted Butter
175g Plain flour
1 teaspoon of Baking Powder
100g Cocoa Powder
175g soft brown sugar
175g Caster sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Paste or Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon mixed spice (Optional)
100g Milk Chocolate 
Fudge Chunks ( I used Thortons Vanilla Fudge)
100g White Chocolate  ( I used patisserie)
Golden Syrup (Optional) 
Deep baking tin
Cake Release Spray to grease tin ( Optional)

• Extra icing sugar for dusting brownies
•  
  

  METHOD 

1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas Mark 6. Prepare your tin by greasing it with Cake Release spray or Butter and line with baking paper.

2. In a saucepan put about 25ml of water and let it simmer, then cut your butter into small chunks and break your bar of milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl and put over the simmering saucepan , Make sure your heatproof bowl does not touch the water and keep mixing until it has completely melted and is smooth is consistency. 

3.  Then in a mixing bowl,  beat an egg into the soft brown & caster sugar mixture.

4. Add the melted butter and chocolate mixture which you made earlier to the sugar & egg mixture and mix together.

5. Sift the flour/cocoa powder/Baking powder little by little into the sugar, chocolate, butter and egg mixture, but make sure you fold it with either a tablespoon or spatula instead of a mixing it with an ordinary wooden spoon , in order to ensure it keeps it light/airy consistency.( You can identify this by seeing if bubbles arise when you fold the mixture) 

6. Once it is all mixed together and smooth in consistency without any lumps of flour, then cut up  your white chocolate pieces and fudge pieces  and fold it into the chocolate brownie mixture .

7.  Once it is all mixed,pour your mixture in your lined/greased baking tray and shake the tray a little bit to even out the mixture . 

8. Once you have smooth your mixture into the baking tray, add sprinkle a few pieces of fudge on top. Bake in the oven for approximately 25 minutes. You don’t want to overcook them so, unlike cakes, you don’t want a skewer to come out all clean. The brownies should be slightly springy on the outside but still gooey in the middle.

9. Once baked, leave your brownies to cool in the baking tray. Once cooled , cut into 12 pieces and  sift icing sugar on top , for decoration (Optional). Then serve.

 
There you have it, the final product Fudge & White Chocolate Brownies.

PRIMARK SS13 Preview on LOOK

OMG Belles!!!!!

Have you seen the Primark SS13 preview on LOOK? If you haven't you need to stop what your doing and take a peek. 

I have said many times before that Primark are getting better as each season passes. Their SS13 collection is on point, following the key SS trends of pastel colours, boucle, structured designs and floral prints. They have it all. I have picked out a few of my favourites from the collection. I love how pastel colours always look so fresh and summery, and pairing that with a structured design instantly makes you look and feel elegant.

Of course there has to be some floral in the mix when it comes to SS, but I also like that the navy and stripes are coming out so that you can create a sailor chic outfit, especially with the key colours navy, white and red.

I'm sure Barclays won't like me when they release this collection. My ultimate favourite piece in the collection is the Pastel Pink PU Collar Biker Coat, it has every thing I look for in a coat and I can't wait for this one to be released. You probably don't know that I have a slight addiction to coats, and have lost count of my collection now.

Winter Basics Haul

Hi Dolls!!!!!

I'm literally writing this before I head off to work. I recently told you that I got the christmas temp job at House of Fraser. Well yesterday was my first day and boy did they throw me in at the deep end. Also they are having an amazing 2 day brand event sale that customers are going crazy for *especially in the line up to Christmas*. Anywhooo I was literally just put on the floor and told to work *bear in mind that we only had a 2 day induction, which did not cover everything*. Just about everything that I wasn't taught came up on the most busiest day of the store which is typical. But I guess it's one of those situation where you either sink or swim.

Anyway I'm rambling now, so back to the point.

Yet again I had another visit to good ole Meadowhall, which my sister as per usual dragged me to, knowing that I'm suppose to be saving *smh*. But I have to agree with her that these were necessary essentials since Jack Frost has lost his damn mind up in Nottingham. I feel like the cold is slicing through me every time I walk to uni. So these items have definitely kept me toasty. Of course they are from our favourite little place PRIMARK.

Jumpers - £8

I just could not leave the shop without these jumpers, and if they bring out more colours then I will be making a trip again. These jumpers are not only warm and cosy, but really stylish as well. The fit is really nice also, because it is slightly fitted but baggy as well, so it doesn't feel like your in a paper bag. I also love the little zip detail at the back because it makes an otherwise plain jumper more interesting. It reminds me a lot of my Vero Moda long jumper, instead this is the shorter version. Plus with a £8 price tag you can stud or add your  own DIY flavour to make it your own.

Out of this world T-shirt - £1

Can you believe I picked up this bad boy for a bargain of £1. Shanaz decided to leave me and go on a little mission of her own searching for a a bargain, and managed to snag this beauty on the sale rail. *I still can't believe Primark can have sales when their prices are so cheap already*. It's quite long and the "out of this world" design is so cute. You can dress this up or dress it down depending on how you feel.

Love Necklace - 50p

This isn't exactly a winter essential, but for 50p it became essential. This "love" design is so cute and dainty. They had other designs but by the time we went back to get more they had already gone lol. I'm drawn to the chain more than the pendant because it is so unusual, and it compliments the pendant so well.

Basic Tees - £3 each

Our harsh winter is slowly creeping up to rear its ugly head, so it's the best time to start layering up. I usually prefer to start with a basic tee and work my way up. When I saw these v neck beauties for £3 (what a steal) I had to get them. They had so many more colours but I only chose these. Between us, both my sister and I probably have most of the colours. They look great with a fitted blazer, jeans and ankle boots, to create an effortlessly chic look for those casual days.

Seriously guys Primark are creating some great winter essentials that are on trend, so I would check out your local Primark.
