21st Birthday Overview

I finally joined the club on Wednesday (8th May). I had a great day,  even though I had to sit a 3 hour Law exam in the morning , as soon as it was over I headed off to Nottingham to celebrate with my sister, who made it amazingly special by decorating her studio apartment with balloons & banners.
I opened all my presents which she had stocked up in her apartment, after that she took me out for a birthday bowling session and I let her win secretly lol .

Then we went out to eat at Turtle Bay Caribbean Restaurant, the next day my mum and brother came to Nottingham to celebrate with us and took me out to Turtle Bay again.

All in all, it was an amazing 2 days celebrating my 21st Birthday with lots of laughter/good times with the family!

My Recent Purchases: Primark, H&M and Matalan

Hi Belles

I'm well into exam mode at the moment and have not had time to myself. So I think I deserve a break now.

Also, I got a NEW JOB!! in a law firm which I will be starting two weeks after my exams. It feels like everything is slotting into place at the right time:)

Would you believe my little sister is turning 21 in two days *sheds a little tear*? I better start the preparations to spoil her on her big day lol :)

Here are my recent purchases

PRIMARK

I was in desperately in need of some casual black flats, to replace my previous ones which were in bad condition. These beauties are perfect because they are black, but the I like the gold studding as it still looks chic but gives an edge so they stand out.

My sister happened to find this and picked it up for me. I think that the UK is getting some sort of Spring weather *how long it will last don't ask me!* . The sailor themed necklace will be great with any spring nautical outfits I plan to style. I like that it has 3 rows of  delicate nautical pendants.

Like I said I have a job in an office now, so of course I had to add to my already large collection of blazers/jackets.  This jacket is also a long length blazer , Grey is great colour for spring outfits and this blazer in particular can be dressed up with a skirt/dress or worn casually with some jeans.

H&M

These bouclé beauties were a real bargain from H&M. I picked them up in the sale, but had to wait quite a while before they were delivered *It went to my home address*.  Because of the mix of biker style and bouclé fabric it can be dressed up or dressed down, making it quite the little chameleon. I decided to pick up both the black *matches with everything* and the mint green *to fit in with the spring colour trend*

MATALAN

I don't know how many people were aware, but Matalan had a £5 shoe event. Yes!!! you heard right a £5 SHOE EVENT...can you say BARGAIN!!. It was only on a selected shoes, but the selection was pretty diverse. I decided on these dolly shoe flats, because they would be perfect for work with the golden heel and golden tips on the bow. I also like that they are patent and look a lot more expensive than they are.

Body Shop - Hemp Hand Protector *

I was recently emailed by a PR representative from The Body Shop , asking if I would like to try and review a product of my choice.

Obviously I jumped at the chance, I have been a fan of The Body shop since I was younger  because it was the only skincare brand my mum swore by in particular the 'Tea Tree Range', which I think assisted with my now blemish free and clear  face!

I chose the Hemp Hand Protector because I am a hand cream addict,  especially now that I take more care of my nails.

Who are The Body Shop?

They are an original, natural and ethical beauty brand with over 37 years experience worldwide, with 2500+ stores in over 60 markets. Their products are all 100% vegetarian.  Also if you didn't know they are a subsidary of L'oreal .

The Hemp Hand Protector is one of  The Body Shop's best selling products, it 'protects hands' and 'helps soften them from the harsh environmental influences'.

It contains the following natural ingredients:

- Fair Trade Hemp seed oil from the UK , which is an oil that contains all your essential fatty acids, it helps to penetrates moisture and lubricates cells to nourish and detoxify skins.

- Castor oil to protect your hands from loss of moisture due to its water resistance , and also improves the firmness of skin keeping it supple and smooth.

The rich and thick consistency of the cream, means that you only need to apply a small amount onto hands and massage well to restore moisture and suppleness.
It is non-sticky and water resistant, making it perfect to use in the day; but also at night when your skin is prone to regeneration and healing.

It is dermatologically tested for very dry skin, but it is still suitable for all skin types as it repair's all the damage to your hands that has accumulated throughout the day (weather, cleaning, etc),  so your hands stay looking beautiful.

I love that the foil tube packaging looks expensive and the big nozzle allows the release of a generous amount  in one squeeze. 
Although I think the packaging is not entirely travel safe for long periods of time, because it can be prone to slight wear and tear (bending, tearing or piercing).  

The scent is not my favourite because it is very natural and organic, but I can overcome that factor because the beneficial results outweigh the negatives.

All in all, this hand cream is very impressive and does exactly what it is described to do. It relieves dry skin in less than a minute. I recommend it to absolutely everyone whatever age you are!

The Hemp Hand Protector can be brought instore and online  , it retails at £5/30ml and £10/100ml which is reasonably priced compared to other products on the market.

TRESemmé Naturals Nourishing Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner Review

I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for about 3 months now and it has become a staple in my haircare regime.

I used to use TRESemmé Professional shampoo & conditioner when I was in high school ,  it was the first product I used which was not specific to African Carribean hair.  One day, whilst surfing Black Girl Long Hair , I seen that one of the girls used TRESemmé Naturals Nourishing Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner in her washing regime and i wondered if it was worth trying it out!

Normally I only swear by Organic Root Stimulator products and although they work, I felt I required a sulphate free shampoo as i heard it is  healthier for your hair due to not stripping the natural oils. As I have very tight coiled natural afro hair (4B) which is easily prone to breakage, I could not resist the Buy one get one free offer, when I went to Superdrug and to threw a set into my basket to trial.

"TRESemmé Naturals Nourishing Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, is designed to prevent hair from damage and breakage as it contains organic Aloe Vera extracts and Avocado oil."
 

The shampoo cleanses well and still foams up despite less sulphates.

 

After using this on my hair, it feels really soft , moistured and clean from build up without leaving my hair dry and stripped of my natural oils.

• It is paraben-free
• Hypoallergic
• Suitable for sensitive skin
• Gentle enough for colour treated hair

The Conditioner is my favourite product from the range, because it is very lightweight , moisturing and protects against damage  & breakage. 

 I always leave it on for a minimum of 3 minutes and use it to detangle my hair as it leaves my hair feeling really soft,smooth and manageable. Sometimes I even use it for co-washing in the middle of the week, if I feel my hair is sweaty or dry as it infuses the hair with moisture.

In terms of the scent of both the shampoo and conditioner, I would say it is mediocre because it is not fruity like Herbal Essence Hello Hydration range but a more of a fresh sweet organic smell.

As I mentioned , when I first purchased these they were on BOGOF offer in Superdrug for £2.45/750ml  but they retail for £4.99 each. Currently Superdrug have selected TRESemmé on offer both instore and online,  3 for £10 Link

I'm impressed, to the point I have stocked up on the TRESemmé Naturals Nourishing Moisture conditioners and even converted my mum and sister to use it in their haircare regime.

21st Birthday Wishlist

So it is officially 1 week until I turn 21

Its crazy to think I am getting older as so much has happened since my 18th milestone and now im coming to age things just keep getting better & better!

Anyway this year, as my birthday will fall in the beginning of exam season, it has mean't that my focus to celebrate it has slowly decreased and not become a priority,  as it just so happens I actually have an Law exam on 8th May (my actual birthday , which sucks) . So it will be very lowkey celebration.
