Easter Holiday Haul: Mango, H and M, M.A.C and Aquascutum

This Easter holiday I decided that I would actually use it as a break. The past four years at uni and this is the first time I have relaxed in the holidays. 

Of course I made a trip up to York again...you know that means I went shopping. This time my lovely mummy was the bad influence and kept buying me more and more stuff.

On another note, I have just got a sewing machine so I'm hoping to maybe do some DIYs this summer *look out for that :)*

Here's my holiday haul

MANGO

These are plain black smart trousers that would be ideal for work. They are tapered to fit perfectly. I'm thinking of using this to create a chic monochrome outfit.

H and M

The bold bright turquoise is perfect for the bold bright colours for Spring/Summer. Hopefully the weather warms up so I can create some cute summery outfits.

As soon as I saw this skirt I feel in love with it. The A-line silhouette is perfect as I have no curves, so it gives me a nice shape. The colours also fit in with the current S/S13 trend.

My mum picked up this beauty first, but it didn't fit, so of course I swooped in and tried it on. It contrast of blues and the tie dye pattern effect is gorgeous. I'm looking forward to the next occasion when I can where this.

Now that I will hopefully be entering the working world soon. I'm building up the blazer collection a lot. The picture doesn't show the true colour, but it is a dark forest green and fitted. I had to get this as a lot of my blazers are short and not long length, and sometimes a long length blazer works better with certain styles.

These abstract skinny jeans again fall into the monochrome trend. They are super skinny pants but I just love the random and aztec print, which makes them fun instead of your typical plain jeans.

I'm slowly building up my pencil skirts for work, and this one is perfect for work. However, because of the denim material you can also dress it down for a casual event.

Every girl needs some flares in her life. These are a perfect fit around the waist, but due to my short stature I have to have the legs taken up. As soon as they are altered I will be wearing these around for sure.

Mint green is the hot colour of the moment, and although this one is darker I still love it all the same. This mini skirt is great for the transitioning weather, as it is a polyester/wool blend fabric that can keep you warm or cool.

I also bought this statement necklace, with sparkly gems to jazz up any plain outfit or spice up a shirt. I did have the blue and black version but I had to take it back as it was damaged and unfortunately there were no more in stock.

M.A.C

I also picked up a Violetta M.A.C creme lipstick, as I fell in love with it when my mum bought it. Naturally I have to have my own. This has become my favourite lipstick now.

AQUASCUTUM

My lovely mother also surprised me with a pair of tapered black Aquascutum shorts. Keeping in with the monochrome trend I really need to find myself a white blazer with black lapels now.

That's what I have got so far. I'm still waiting on two jackets from H&M to be delivered. I'll do a post on those when they finally arrive.

My 22nd Birthday Haul

Last week I turned 22 *cue the old jokes*,and unfortunately I did not celebrate it due to a mixture of the snow blocking all transportation and exams.

To make up for it I got some lovely gifts from my family and friends.

I got this beautiful  rose gold bangle by Jeminee from my sister, Shanaz with a cute inscription saying "Life is a blessing be true to yourself"

My mum got me a really delicate and dainty rose gold bracelet from Mikey London. This picture does not do the bracelet justice, as inside the twisting detail are tiny crystals in addition to the larger crystals outside. When it catches the light the sparkles look so glamorous. It is just perfect to add that extra sparkle to an outfit.

I have been dying to get a new watch as my DKNY watch is getting old. I fell in love with rose gold watches after seeing them all over the blogging world as well as on Tumblr. I got so excited as soon as I unwrapped this amazing Breda watch, because not only is it rose gold but it has a diamanté border around the watch face. In addition this watch features the days of the week and the date. Unfortunately, I can't wear it yet as I have to get a couple of links removed.

My sister again got me a lovely phone cover case for my Samsung Galaxy S3, which is a dupe of the Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Canvas print . I have just noticed the gold theme that seems to be running throughout all my presents lol

My chic studded high top trainers from my sister, so I can still look stylish even when I'm having my casual days at uni.

Again my sister showering me with gifts and got me this Limited Edition fitted abstract print body-con dress. I love the neckline as it's similar to a sweetheart neckline which is always flattering. The back detail caught my attention as soon as I opened it, because it features a cut out back. It's not fully cut out, maintaining its sophistication but adding a hint of mystery at the same time.

I love my brother for getting me the Mango coat I wanted. You can't tell in the picture because the lighting was crazy  that day, but it is a black coat. This coat is a double breasted wool coat *it is soo warm and cosy* , it just goes over my knees but is perfect as a dress coat for those special occasions.

You must have realised that my sister and I have quite the sweet tooth. My friend decided to add to this bad habit by giving me this bag of sweets, but she also knows my love of cupcakes and got me a cupcake money box. I use it as a decoration in my flat rather than a money tin  *it's too pretty to be used lol*

I haven't actually seen these in person yet as they were delivered late, so my sister sent me pictures. The studded detail and the fact that they are heelless shoes, just screams chic to me. I can't wait to wear these, maybe after all these exams are out of the way I'll have an excuse to wear them.

OOTD : Anniversary Dinner Outfit

On 3rd October marked mine and my boyfriend's 1 year anniversary!!!!

Although we were unable to celebrate it on the actual day due to conflicting work schedules with me being at university and him working. He came up to visit me this weekend and as we decided to keep the festivities simple & he took me out to dinner at Chiquito's :)

I decided to create my ideal summer capsule wardrobe. If the English weather would be kind to us and gives us more sun instead of rain and wind, I would be able to wear nice summery outfits. But were not lucky enough yet so I decided to imagine nice outfits that I could wear *if I had the funds and weather* :)

I styled the outfits in columns for different occasions, but they can mix and match to make other great outfits.

Column 1 - Party/ Clubbing: I chose to go very bold with this look by adding the neon yellow, to keep within the neon trend, and ensure all eyes are on you while you are partying away on the dance floor. The floral print also keeps the look very summery, but also shows a playful side.

Column 2 - Beach babe: I went with a fresh aqua green theme, to keep the look bold and bright, as the sun will be shining down on you and will compliment any skin tone or tan :). The wedge heels will look sexy on the beach to elongate those legs, while also providing great comfort if you decide to take a stroll along the beach front (you can also mix and match the foot wear with Column 3, if you are not comfortable with heels)

Column 3 - Festivals/ Park: I think this look is perfect for festivals or just a casual trip to sunbathe in the park with friends. It's a simple yet stylish look due to the cool mint green theme. I think a pair of white shorts and a white vest is a staple in any summer wardrobe, as it matches with anything and provides a nice base, which can  be changed by accessorising. I chose sandals to compliment this look as standing on your feet all day at a festival, or running around in a park may not be as fun if your in heels.

Column 4 - Office/ Wedding: The peach and orange colour tone is warm but also bright without putting all the focus on you. The combination of the pieces work well together to create a structured stylish look that is appropriate for a wedding or the office. The bag could also be swapped for a clutch if that is what you prefer for the wedding. The jacket is optional in case you need to wear a suit jacket for a meeting, but can be removed for a wedding.

Column 5 - Smart casual: Keeping with the summery trend I decided to go with a bold pink colour scheme. The dipped hem skirt provides great movement, that makes you seem like your gliding along the street or across to the bar if your out for drinks. I teamed the skirt with a white studded bandeau to add an edgy side to this girly look.

Column 6 - Shopping Trip: I kept this look very casual but also went with a nautical theme. Although this is a casual look, it is still stylish without looking boring. The red, patent bowling bag keeps the look crisp and clean, but the cropped, bleached washed denim jacket keeps the look young. The red vans draws the bag together with the look, but also provides comfort and style for those long hours of retail therapy.

Also I'm going to the Christian Louboutin Exhibition tomorrow at the Design Museum which is going to be fun as Christian Louboutin is my favourite shoe designer. However, no photography is allowed unfortunately, so no pics I'm afraid.
